I’ve nearly finished the paperback version of ‘the Pulse Hospital Radio Chronicles’. This morning I went through the document and added a Q and A section and acknowledgements to the end. I also added the page numbers. Next time I’ll mess with the headers and add the names of each short story to the top of the relevant sections. I also need to add a contents page. Then it’s just the small matter of submitting the document and drawing up the cover using the template that kindle will send me. Sounds like a lot, but hopefully it shouldn’t be too long now before it’s published, and then I can get on with my other projects.

I write novels and short stories and draw and write cartoons. The main cartoon I'm working on at the moment is Still Life. It's about a man who sits at home on his sofa all day and yet bizarre things still happen to him. At the moment him and his sofa are stuck on a desert island. My debut novel is out now. It's called 'A Fifth Visitor', and it's a very unofficial sequel to 'A Christmas Carol'. The story picks up five years after the events of Dickens' classic, and we see how Scrooge is getting on with his promise to always keep Christmas. A new spirit pays him a visit and convinces Scrooge that he's not doing enough to redeem himself, so they both travel to the future to save a young nurse called Grace, but there's something big that this new spirit is keeping to himself. I'm developing a website dedicated to my writing, so watch this space. One of my short stories is available on amazon kindle. If you want to check it out, it's called 'Richmond's Rarity'. It's about a late night hospital radio DJ. I've written it under my author name of John D Payne.
Creating A Cover
Richmond’s Roadshow Revelation out tomorrow
Getting quite excited now. The new ebook is out tomorrow. Got to keep beavering away though. I’ve got the paperback collection of all 5 of Dave Richmond’s adventures to finish, and then I’m going to finally finish typing up my long running children’s adventure story ‘The Badger Helper Watcher’. Then there’s the spinoff about one of the characters in ‘Richmond’s Halloween Horror’ to work on and the sequel to ‘Bright Future’ to finish.
The Final Stages
Keep an eye out for “Richmond’s Roadshow Revelation” on Amazon, because I’ve just submitted it for KDP. Any time now it will be available to preorder. So, if you buy it anytime between now and next Friday, it will automatically appear on your Kindle one minute past midnight on October 14th. Let me know what you think. Now I need to move on to the paperback of “The Pulse Hospital Radio Chronicles”. Just need to add the aforementioned “Richmond’s Roadshow Revelation to it, a contents page, a little Q & A section, and then it’s just a small matter of drawing up the cover to the correct specifications. Last Few Steps
I’m very nearly ready to publish the ebook of “Richmond’s Roadshow Revelation”. I think I’m getting quite good at this editing lark, although it’s surprising some of the stuff you miss, even on the fourth do over. Stuff such as characters’ names (I changed a new character’s name halfway through, and I’m still finding ghosts of her original name in the manuscript). All being well, the ebook will be out 14th October (my birthday, coincidentally) and the paperback of all five stories will be out soon after that. Anyway, best get back to it!
